Artifact of the Week: B-29 Superfortress Gunsight Computer.  Unlike the hands-on, exposed-to-the-elements gunnery of the B-17, B-24 and other World War II bombers, where the gunners physically aimed their guns through brute strength, gunners in the B-29 Superfortress sat inside a pressurized fuselage, away from their gun mounts.  With the use of computers like this one, they were able to remotely aim 1 or more of the gun turrets at oncoming fighters.  On display in the MAPS museum room.
